Constant Torque Spring CTS-001 is a pre-stressed strip of SUS301 stainless steel or high-carbon steel wound into a coil mounted between a storage drum and an output drum. When the strip is counter-wound onto the output drum under load, a restoring force builds. When the load is released, a constant torque is output from the output drum throughout the range of rotation. This consistent rotary force makes CTS-001 ideal for automatic cable retraction, counterbalancing weights, and stored-energy power sources in automation and consumer products.
